Abstract Submission

Abstract Guidelines

  • Abstract submission is open to all registered delegates.
  • Abstracts should be submitted only online through the “Abstract submission portal” on the official site www.dermazonenorth2024.com
  • You may submit more than one abstract in each category. But a maximum of only one oral presentation would be accepted per delegate, other submissions from the same delegate will be converted to e-poster if found suitable.
  • The scientific committee will evaluate the submitted abstracts based on the following criteria: the novelty of the research, the significance of the case report/study, clarity, and the succinct manner in which the abstracts are written
  • The scientific chairperson and committee members take the final call on abstracts.
  • Acceptance or rejection of the paper will be conveyed by email two weeks after the last date.
  • If a revision is needed, the revised abstract should be sent back within a week.

ABSTRACT PREPARATION GUIDELINES

    The Scientific Committee invites abstract(s) for showcasing original research, procedural video presentation and case report/ series in the DERMAZONE North 2024, to be held from 4th- 6th October, 2024 at The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel, Delhi.

    General submission guidelines

    • The presenting author must be an IADVL member (LM or PLM).
    • Abstract submission opens on 15th June and closes on midnight of 20th August 2024.
    • Abstract has to be submitted at the dedicated portal www.dermazonenorth2024.com
    • Abstract received by e-mail will not be evaluated.
    • For Award paper-ONLY original research will be considered; case reports will NOT be considered for award paper, however they can be considered for e-poster/ free paper.
    • Free papers and E-posters are open to all delegates.
    • A presenting author can submit a maximum of 2 abstracts for consideration for DERMAZONE North 2024.
    • Please note that registration for the conference is mandatory for presentation at the conference.
    • All residents should submit a letter from the Head of Department certifying the authenticity of the paper and the category of paper submission.
    • Acceptance of abstract evaluation will be communicated by e-mail to the submitting (presenting) author by 30th August 2024.

    • Award paper only (for postgraduate residents and for dermatologists 35 years age)
    • Oral free paper only
    • e-Poster only
    • Award paper or oral free paper or e-Poster (for whichever mode of presentation selected by the Scientific Committee)
    • Short procedural video presentation of an innovation

    Submission topics

    Abstract in any area related to the combined speciality of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprology can be submitted. The topics listed below are for categorization of display of selected abstracts. Kindly choose only one topic most appropriate to your subject of research. If it does not fit in a given category, please select ‘miscellaneous’

    Abstract preparation instructions

    • All abstracts must be submitted in English- Times New Roman, with a font size of 12 and double spacing.
    • To ensure blinded review-NO identifying features such as names of hospitals, names of head of department, medical colleges, clinics or places may be listed in the title or text of the abstract.
    • Do not include the names of authors and their affiliations in the abstract body. There will be provision of entering author details and their affiliation(s) in the submission platform.
    • The material in the abstract must be original and not previously published.
    • The size of the abstract is limited to 350 words (excluding title, authors, their affiliations etc.)
    • The brand names or name of the manufacturers for any drug or equipment is strictly prohibited. Use generic name(s).
    • Ethical considerations: Please ensure that the research complies with ethical standards.
    • Non-adherence to any guideline may result in an automatic rejection of the abstract.
    • No references, graphs, figures or tables are needed with abstract submission.
    • Check spelling and grammar carefully. The abstract text will not be edited and will be reproduced in the submitted form in the e-
      abstract book.

    ABSTRACT TEXT FILE

    • Title: The title should be concise and clearly convey the subject of the abstract. Abbreviations must not be used in the title. The
      title should not be written entirely in capital letters.
    • Abstract body formatting: Structure your abstract using the following subheadings

    A. For Original Research:

    a. Background: Brief introduction and rationale for the study

    b. Aims & objectives: Main goal and hypothesis of the study

    c. Materials/patients & methods: Description of the study design, procedures and statistical methods

    d. Results: Summarize your results in a logical sequence; include specific data

    e. Conclusions: Emphasise new and important aspects of the study and conclusions that are drawn from them Limitations

    f. Conflict of interest: Declaration of conflict of interest is mandatory at the time of abstract submission.

    B. For Case Description (case reports/ case series):

    • Introduction
    • Description of the case
    • Conclusion: Mention why the case is unique and worth presenting

    C. For Video demonstration: Can include innovation in investigative or procedural modalities including dermoscopy and other diagnostic/ therapeutic procedures pertaining to Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy.

    • Background: Brief information on why this procedural improvisation/ innovation was necessary
    • Procedure: Briefly describe the procedure
    • Novelty: Briefly describe the novelty including how it is likely to change the existing practice
